Steem is a blockchain database that supports community building and social interaction with cryptocurrency rewards. Steem combines the concepts used in social with lessons learned from building cryptocurrencies and their communities. According to their whitepaper, Steem is the first cryptocurrency that attempts to reward individuals who make subjective contributions to its community, with a goal of being transparent and accurate. The Steem community purports to provide the following services to its members: A soucrs a curated news and commentary, a means to get quality answers to personalized questions, a stable cryptocurrency pegged to the U.S. dollar, free payments, and jobs providing above services to other members.
