<text>Mastodon came online in October 2016. It's a microblog, replicating many features of Twitter, with short posts and follower/followed relationships. Its major distinction from Twitter is that it is federated, meaning it has no central server, but rather a collection of servers run by volunteers. Each server administrator can set rules for accessing and using her server. Mastodon is a modification of GNU social software, which is the underlying software of other federated microblogs, such as the Independent Microblogging Service.</text>

Oulipo.social is a lipogrammatic Mastodon for all.

FAQ

I saw a stray fifth symbol! Can you fix it?
Look at our list of bugs on GitHub. It's probably known, and you shouldn't toot at @mus about it. If it's not known, add a bug or a PR on GitHub.
Can I post links that contain taboo symbols?
Go for it. Validation skips links and it's not a faux pas at all.
What if I post symbols that look similar to that taboo glyph?
Don't. Mods will discard toots that do this, and if you don't stop, banning may follow.
No problm I'll writ lik this.
No. Stop. Don't do this.
But this is hard?
Practicing will bring you far.
What synonym should I sub in for [x]?
Try to stop looking for synonyms; if you try to swap out individual words, you'll find it tough going. Pull back and think abstractly about what you want to say and find words for that.
Social Contract

This social contract is an adaptation from Mastodon.social.

What follows is not a law contract, and final ruling is up to administrators of oulipo.social; it should function to clarify our community policy and standards:

This is activity such as:
Continuing to talk to an individual that has said to stop, a platform's privacy tools notwithstanding.
Posting, and/or sharing an individual's data or information without that individual's approval (informally known as doxing or dropping dox).
Inciting accounts to post to an individual in additional discussion if that individual has said it should stop (informally known brigading or dogpiling).
All this notwithstanding, administrators of oulipo.social can ban any accounts, at any point, for any motivation, if not in violation of law.</text>
