Q : 初めてログインしたらどうしたらいい？
まずはローカルタイムライン(LTL)にお越しください。ボカロ丼では今のところフォローしあってホームタイムラインで話すよりも、LTLでチャット風に会話するのが主流です。ざっと眺めながら気が向いたら書き込んでみてください。
Q : 私の書き込み、ローカルタイムライン(LTL)に流れないんですが...
iOSのAmaroqの場合、デフォルトではLTLには流れない設定になっています。「Default post to public」に変更するとLTLに流れるようになりますよ。

Mastodonの使い方―Twitterとの違いについて
Mastodonの基本的な使い方を、Twitterとの違いという点から書きます。
複数のタイムライン（TL）
Mastodonには3つのタイムライン（TL）があります。
ホーム
TwitterのTLと同等のものです。自分がフォローしたアカウントのつぶやき（トゥート）が表示されます。
ローカルTL
このインスタンスに参加しているユーザのつぶやき（トゥート）が表示されます。フォローしていないユーザのトゥートも表示されます。表示はインスタンスで共通なもので、このインスタンス内の他のユーザも同じものを見ています。
連合TL
このインスタンスの誰かがフォローした他のインスタンスのユーザのトゥートが表示されます。またこの他のインスタンスのユーザ（ユーザA）を起点にした、
ユーザAが返信したトゥート
ユーザAがブースト（Twitterで言うリツイート）したトゥート
も合わせて表示されます（※ここが少しややこしい）。表示はインスタンスで共通なもので、このインスタンス内の他のユーザも同じものを見ています。
Twitterと違い誰もフォローしなくてもローカルTLでこのインスタンス内の他のユーザと交流したり、連合TLでさらに広い範囲のトゥートを見たりすることが出来ます。
つぶやき（トゥート）の公開範囲
Mastodonではつぶやき（トゥート）の公開範囲を次の中から選択します。
公開
ローカルTL（及び連合TL）に表示されます。自分をフォローしている、していないに関わらずトゥートが公開されることになります。
未収載
ローカルTL（及び連合TL）に表示されません。他のユーザに拡散（ブースト）を許可し、ブーストされた際はブーストしたユーザをフォローしているユーザのホームに表示されます。トゥートの拡散はフォロワー伝いになります。
非公開
ローカルTL（及び連合TL）に表示されません。他のユーザに拡散（ブースト）を許可しません。自分のトゥートはフォロワー止まりです。
ダイレクト
宛先を指定したトゥートです。宛先に指定したユーザのみが閲覧可能です。
他のインスタンスのユーザとのつながり
Mastodonはここ以外にもたくさんのインスタンスがあります。リモートフォローをすることで他のインスタンスのユーザをフォローしすることが出来、自分のホーム上やみんなの見ている連合TL上に表示させることが可能です。
リモートフォローの方法
リモートフォローには2つの方法があります。
検索してリモートフォロー
ログイン後の画面から、投稿フォームの上部にある「検索」窓を使います。
検索窓にリモートフォローしたいアカウントの情報を入力します。
「@（アカウント名）@（インスタンスのドメイン名）」
というルールで入力します。これがアカウントのフルネームになります。
パソコンの場合はエンターキーで検索が実行され、結果が表示されます。表示されたアカウントからリモートフォローしたいアカウントを選択します。
選択したアカウントの詳細が表示されます。左上のフォローマークからこのアカウントをリモートフォローすることが出来ます。
外からリモートフォロー
アカウントを選択して表示されるアカウント詳細画面さらさらにもう一回アカウントの画像を選択すると、アカウント単独の画面に移ります。この画面はインスタンスにログインしていない人でも見る事の出来るアカウントを外に公開している画面になります。アカウント公開画面の表示例はこちら
右上の「リモートフォロー」を選択します（※同じインスタンスに既にログインしている場合は表示されません）。
入力エリアに自分のアカウント情報を入力します。
なぜかわからないですが先頭に「@」は不要です。「フォローする」を選択します。
確認画面のような感じでもう一度出てくるので、「フォロー」を選択します。
自分のアカウントのページにジャンプし、リモートフォローしたアカウントが表示されています。左上のフォローアイコンが青色で、フォローしている状態であることが確認できます。
運営主体とか
TwitterはTwitter社が運営していますが、Mastodonはみんなが勝手に運営しています（私もその一人です）。Mastodonに限ったことではありませんが、登録するアカウント情報については万が一何かあっても他のサービスに影響が出ないよう配慮しておく必要があります（具体的にはパスワードを使い回さない等）。
びわ湖丼からのハッシュタグをブーストするアカウントについて
びわ湖丼のLTLから特定のハッシュタグの付いたトゥートをブーストするアカウントを作っています。外のインスタンスとのすれ違いなんかを少しでも減らせればと思い作りました。
びわ湖丼の人は、外のインスタンスの人にも見てもらいたい内容の時には #関西連合 と付けてみてください。

このインスタンスに作成されるbotアカウントについて、以下のルールを設けます。

びわ湖丼マップについて
ハッシュタグの付いた最新40件のトゥートをGoogleMap上に表示させるページを作りました。 → びわ湖丼マップ
トゥートをマップに表示させるには
以下の手順でびわ湖丼マップにトゥートが載ります。
びわ湖丼マップを開きます。
現在位置をトゥートする場合
左上のメニューを開き、「現在位置を取得」をタップすると地図上の現在位置にが表示されます。
をタップし、選択されている文字列をコピーします。
任意の位置をトゥートする場合
左上のメニューを開き、「タップした位置を取得[OFF]」をタップすると「タップ[ON]」に切り替わります。
この状態でトゥートしたい地図上の任意の位置をタップし、選択されている文字列をコピーします。
マストドンに戻り、先ほどコピーした文字列をトゥートのエリアに貼り付け、その他内容を入力します。
トゥートされたら、リンクをタップして位置を確認しましょう。

利用される上での注意点
位置情報は個人情報とすぐに結びつく可能性のある情報になります。トゥートされる際はその点を十分ご留意ください。
トゥートを削除することでマップの表示も消えますが、外部の検索エンジンにトゥートが残っている場合があります。
外部アプリからびわ湖丼マップを開く際
外部アプリを利用されている際、トゥートからびわ湖丼マップのURLをタップすると
通常、アプリ内ブラウザが立ち上がります。私が確認した限り、アプリ内ブラウザでは現在位置を取得することが出来ません（アプリによっては取得できるかもしれません）。
この場合、トゥート内のURLを長押しし、メニューから「開く」「ブラウザから開く」といった項目を選択して
ブラウザから開くようにしてください。
インスタンスの状態
このインスタンスの応答状態です。aboutページの表示に掛かった時間をグラフ化しています。
このインスタンスがトゥートをやり取りした数とかです。
その他
MastodonはInternet Explorerに非対応です。
