Founded in 2025, The Network of Alternative Social Media Researchers is an international collective of academics who study the cultures, technologies, and practices of non-corporate social media.
Collectively, the network has published a wide range of research, including:

- Migrations across social media platforms
- Comparative analysis of social media software
